Now if you follow World of Warcraft at all, you know that ever since Blizzard copyrighted “Cataclysm”, people have assumed that it is the name of the next World of Warcraft expansion. If you follow the lore at all in Warcraft, you know that many years before the events of the current game, there was a world shaking “cataclysm” and most of the night elf society including Queen Azshara was thrown under the sea as a punishment, and the Maelstrom out on top for good measure.
Wow.com is now stating that as per their sources, World of Warcraft’s new expansion will in fact be the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm that we have all been speculating on. And not only that, their sources are also confirming two other tidbits that have been tossed around, Worgen and Goblin’s as playable races. Worgen for the Alliance, most likely based around the never yet open Gilneas area on the Eastern Kingdoms, and the Goblins as the horde’s new playable race. Who knows where Goblins would start out, but main island of the Goblins hasn’t been seen yet in game, and would make a likely starting area.
You can read their update here. I will go on to say that this is still pretty much rumour, at least until Blizzcon, but I would assuume that it is a safe bet. We will find out for sure soon, though!
