Blizzard Tests Out Integrated VoIP in WoW
Published August 10, 2007
Blizzard has a new feature on their test realms for World of Warcraft…integrated Voice over IP. They’re not the first, back as long ago as 1998, eGenesis had plans to use an integrated version of Roger Wilco in their then upcoming A Tale in the Desert, which were scrapped primarily for bandwidth reasons. Nowadays, with dial-up connections almost a thing of the past and so many users running their own Ventrilo or Teamspeak servers in addition to their favourite MMOG, bandwidth isn’t so much of concern. Worldofwar.net have posted an FAQ of all the details here.
