Trion Worlds Announces Rift: Storm Legion Expansion

Trion World has done a great job of making Rift the MMO king of putting out new content, and they are at it again. This time with a full-on expansion.

The first expansion for Rift is called Storm Legion, and it looks like it will deliver everything you would expect from an MMO expansion.

Before we get into the details we know, check out the awesome cinematic teaser Trion released:

We don’t have a release date for Storm Legion just yet, and I haven’t seen a price quoted anywhere, but we do have some information about what game features we can expect.

For starters, they are introducing a vast new world, with two huge continents to explore that are more than triple the size of the existing world of Telara. This new world will have a new capital city for both the Defiant and Guardians called Tempest Bay.

Players will be getting 10 more levels to advace through, increasing the game’s level cap to 60. 4 new Souls are also being added, so each class will have a new tree of abilities to explore.

7 new dungeons, 3 raids, aand a Chronicle top the list of new content, as well as new rifts, and a Colossus that “ravages the world like you’ve never seen”.

It looks like Rift will be getting its own version of player housing and guild halls with Dimensions, which are customizable spaces allowing players and guilds to own a sliver of Telara.

Crafting will of course be seeing a level increase, and new puzzles, artifacts, achievments, mounts, pets, titles and more will be in the new expansion.

Oh, and capes are coming.

This expansion is exciting news for Rift, and its got me so excited that I think I might go ahead and re-sub this weekend, and start getting ready for Storm Legion.
