If you pay attention to World of Warcraft, or MMOs in general, you know that Blizzard has another MMO currently in the works. Most of that stems from job listings for programmers to work on a new MMO over at the Blizzard site. And of course, speculation to that has been running rampant since the listings were first picked up. With people expecting anything from Word of Starcraft, to a Diablo MMO, to even a Lost Vikings MMO, gamers have been tossing out franchises left and right.

According to an article over at Tradingmarkets.com, Caijing magazine in China broke a story that Netease.com Inc, China’s leading online game operator, may for the first time be licensed to operate an overseas title. They reported that the title in question will be none other than Starcraft Online according to an industry insider.

Of course, Netease CEO Ding Lei didn’t confirm the report, stating only that they are observing many online games, and no contracts of any kind have been signed.

Do keep in mind that at this time, this is nothing other than a rumor. Blizzard has been tight-lipped on just what title that job listing was for, stating nothing more than it is in fact NOT a future WoW expansion. Maybe someday we’ll see a Starcraft MMO, but with Starcraft 2 already in development, and Diablo 3 all but announced already, it will be a long time before we get a confirmation on what they have up their sleeve.
