You may have noticed that it’s been a bit quiet around here lately.
The reason for this, I am now free to disclose, is that in solidarity with our striking brothers in the Writers Guild of America, we steadfastly refused to to post any articles whatsoever during the entire month of December.
But, now that the writers for The Daily Show and Colbert Report are back on the job starting Monday, we feel that the better portion of the Guild has been served. And, like them, we will once more be resuming a semi-regular schedule, starting this week.
In other news:
After a lengthy struggle with the former owner, we would like to formally announce that we have a new domain:
Now, we just have to spend the next twelve months getting people to stop using the hyphen, after spending the last twelve months getting them to use it.
In celebration of our new and improved hyphen-less domain, we are presently toiling away behind the scenes on an overhaul of the site, including aesthetic improvements (which hopefully will cause everyone to stop complaining), and, a new and more functional forum, which we intend to become an active beacon of intelligent thought and rational discourse in the MMO genre.
Failing that, we’d also settle for slightly less vitriol and bitter hatred than most of the other boards on the subject.
And of course, in addition to all of this we will continue to provide the sort of quality reporting you have come to expect of us, as we expand our writing staff, and cover an ever-growing number of titles.
2007 was a good inaugural year for The MMO Gamer, and, with your continued readership, we can make 2008 an even greater one.
